Geting back into it

This was the first Drawing three assignment of the new Spring 2010 semester. I had not made marks with charcoal for a long time now. My last two Drawing 3 classes that I was both had me doing more preformance and sculptural peaces and and before that I was working with oil pasteles and water color. So it has been a while for me.
Like I said this peice here was to get me back to the fundimentals. I enjoyed working with charcoal agian and really enjoyed drawing in a drawing class. This assignment was about journeys. I took the assignment as what we see on our way to class every day. Other people had much shorter journeys, like from the bed room to the bath room or never leaving there chair at all. Well mine was from my apartment to class, but all the images I took were we disjointed and didn't look like they connected with eachother. So I had so simlify journey.I took out all small section of it and made it my focus. It was a simple walk down the stairs in the art building. What came out were these four drawings on one sheet of paper. Even though it was form my veiw, the images looked like servalance cameras. I would like to revisit this idea, but this time have the camera position of in the corner of each flight of stairs, so it will be like the man is looking down on us.
When I remake this image there will be more images for the 3 corners of each of the 3 section of stairs, the cameras must miss nothing. I with also be using a straight edge and tape to seperate each camera image that share the same piece of paper. I will also saterate teh shadows and dark spots with more black charcol giving the image a much darker tone
